Card Creations for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #25

Hello Everyone!
Today I have 4 cards to share with you that I created for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #25, the theme for this challenge is "White on White With a Touch of Color".
This theme really inspired me and maybe my touch of color was more color than they intended but I thoroughly enjoyed myself - in fact I might make one or two more!

I haven't joined the last couple of challenges and I really missed it - it's truly fun and I love to see everyone's spin on the theme. Of course, it's good to get feedback too!
These are my cards so far:
Friendship Card
I used the following SSS products: Stitched Rectangle Dies and Stitched Circle Dies, the Circle Sayings Stamp Set and the Friends Die, also used the SSS Dye Ink Pads in Doll Pink & Coral. I used vellum in the shaker windows to tone down the color.
-------------------
Thinking of You Water Color Card
I used the following SSS products for this card: Stitched Rectangle Dies, Hand Lettered Winter Wishes Stamp Set and the Diagonal Stripes Background Rubber Stamp. I embellished with Pretty Pink Posh sequins (Sparkling Clear, 6 mm & 4 mm).
 ----------------
Feather Friendship Card
These are the SSS products I used for this card: Sentiments Of You Die & Stamp Set, Pointed Feather Dies and Stitched Rectangle Dies (for the stitched lines).
----------------
Thanks Sunshine Card

On this bright card, I used: the SSS Circle Dots Stencil (with Ranger Texture Paste) and the SSS Stitched Circle Dies. I also used the Sunshine Die and the SSS Flip Flop Season Stamp Set ("Thanks" sentiment)
I embellished with Pretty Pink Posh sequins (Lemon Drop & Tangerine).

Simon Says Stamp August 2015 Card Kit - Card Video Tutorial

- Happy Day To All!! -

I recently received my August 2015 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit but this time, instead of only filming the kit contents, I decided to do a video of me making a card from the kit as well. However, I did not view the kit before I filmed so the video is a bit lengthy as I shape up my vision of the card while doing it, which was a fun process and I am proud to say that I edited the whole video without my hubby's help this time - yayyy me!

This is a pic of the card kit contents:

This is the first card that I made with the kit:

This is the video tutorial showing how I made this card (or you can view the video on my My YouTube Channel):

This is another fun card that I made with the kit:
This kit is so fun and summer-y! I truly enjoyed making these two cards and I will make more for sure!

"You Are Stronger Than You Think" Banner Shaker Card

Happy Friday Everyone!

I want to share this pretty banner card that I created with fun stamps, dies and sequins from Craftin Desert Divas:

I used the following CDD goodies:
Banner Dies
Be Inspired Stamp Set
Mermaid Lagoon Sequins
This card was so fun to create: I used the two banner dies to cut out the shaker window and then water colored it blue; then I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum and after adhered that to the backside of the shaker window. I used a blue foam sheet with the same banner dies so that those gorgeous Mermaid Lagoon Sequins had the height to shake around. I then accented the card with sparkly flowers & sequins, then tied a pretty ribbon around the card to enhance the blue.

Take a closer look at the detail on the stitched banner and those lovely sequins:

I love making shaker cards, everyone loves receiving them because they're so fun and unique - make one today!
Thank you for stopping by today and if you want to purchase the inspiring products that I used and to see even more, visit the Craftin Desert Diva's Shop.

Our Family Summer Soul Camp

Our Indoor Family Summer Soul Retreat

Hello To All!
Today I'm sharing an activity that me and my boys did for an online workshop I am taking from Heather Bruggeman (Beauty That Moves). This workshop is called Summer Soul Camp 2015. I was invited by my niece (and one of my closest friends!) Oona Nicholas. Oona and I also have taken the Whole Food Kitchen Workshop from Heather.

What a lovely idea to have some time set aside at the beginning of summer to reflect on what one feels about summer: the feelings and memories it evokes, what it inspires us to do, what it means to us as individuals.

There are many activities that Heather has in store for us in the days ahead. Yesterday we did some journal writing and developed our own vision boards & mantras, today was about setting up our own Soul Camps, items and location chosen by us.

The idea was to take items that you already have and make your own summer retreat. What a blast it turned out to be...the boys helped me and wanted their own space too. Since it is rainy today, we set up Summer Soul Retreats inside although items can be taken outside on sunny days.

This is a closer view of the items we choose to be a part of it:

There are books, magazines, my workshop binder & journal, craft supplies (planning to watercolor the next couple of days) and also to set a nice mood we set down a Native blanket my sister gave me, a softly lit lamp, a plant and some hand picked flowers, rocks collected from our family walks. In the background is the vision board I did yesterday.

I got the boys to chose the items they wanted in their Soul Retreat:
Ethan Getting Creative
They picked out: a nice lamp, a plant, books & markers, pads of paper and they too wanted their vision board to set the tone for their space.

My mantra for the summer is:

The eye of my eyes are opened.
- E.E. Cummings

This quote is so fitting for me as I feel I have to slow down and enjoy each moment...I want to see what is right in front of me: to focus on what I have rather than on the have-nots...to be grateful for whom and what is in my life. I have much to give thanks for.

Loving this workshop because it's helping me to take a calmer approach to summer, to allow myself and my family to embrace it, to celebrate it for the summer season is a special time to cherish.
