Birch Tree Challenge Cards

Happy Monday Everyone!
I am happy to say that I am still making Christmas cards...I even think of new ideas before sleep lol!

I made this card with the Birch Column Die from Simon Says Stamp (SSS):

This is inspired by the colors of the latest Color Throwdown Challenge (CTD423) :

I am entering this card into the CTD423, the SSS Flickr Challenge #60 and the current SSS Work It Wednesday Challenge. The Color Throwdown colors really brought a fun and playful element to this card. I used Gansai Tambi watercolors to add the color (#34, #36 & #51) and also sequins & beads from Pretty Pink Posh and Kennedy Grace Creations. The sentiment is from the Ornaments Stamp & Cut set (Hero Arts).

I then made another card with this gorgeous SSS Birch Column Die:

I absolutely love this card: the silver glitter paper combined with red accents is so striking! The background paper is from BoBunny and the frame is cut from the Fancy Frames Dies (Craftin Desert Divas). The sentiment is stamped with the SSS Schoolhouse Red ink pad. It is from the SSS Presents & Ornaments stamp set.

I think I may make Christmas cards even after the 25th - I'm running out of time and I still have so many ideas lol!

The warmest holiday wishes to all of you!

Blessed Christmas Shaker Card

Hello Everyone!
I have been in the swing of getting ready for Christmas and a big part of that for me means Christmas card making.

On that note, I couldn't resist making this shaker card:

When I saw the Magical Christmas stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, I knew that I had to get it! I'm First Nations (Maliseet Tribe) so I just fell in love with the "Native feel" of this gorgeous set!

This is the video showing how I made the card:
(or watch on YouTube, click here <---- )

More photos of the card:

I am sending this card to a wonderful family that I love - giving is one of the best aspects of Christmas! I am also entering it into the latest Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #60 (Cut It Out For Diecember).

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope that all of you are enjoying getting ready for this joyous season, it's my absolute favorite time of the year!

Holiday Hugs!!

Taking Part in Color Throwdown 422

Hello Everyone!
I'm happy to be taking part in this week's Color Throwdown (#422). I have seen different card maker's projects for past Color Throwdown challenges but after seeing Amy Rysavy's blog post and video for this recent one (422), I just knew it was time to take part.

I made this card for the challenge:

These are the colors for this week's color throwdown:
Navy, Hot Pink, Turquoise & Orange

I love the colors that were chosen - such a fun combo! I looked at my supplies and choose to use: Momento Dew Drop ink pads in Tangelo & Danube Blue; Lawn Fawn's Mermaid ink pad & SSS Doll Pink ink pad. I also used Magenta Ranger Embossing Powder. Additional splashes of the throwdown colors were added with sequins: PPP Aquamarine & Tangerine (4mm) plus the 6 mm flat Orchid sequins. The super small navy sequins are from the Freedom Sequins (Craftin Desert Divas). I also used pink & white bakers twine from Hobby Lobby for a finishing touch. The card base is a SSS top folding A2 card base with a piece of SSS Doll Pink card stock on top. The scallop die is from the Fancy Frames dies (Craftin Desert Divas).

I took a pic on my desk right after I finished the
card to show some of the supplies that I used:

Here are more pics of the card so you can appreciate those gorgeous & bright colors:

I am so happy with the way it turned out! This challenge turned out to be such a fun experience - I know that I'll take part again! Go to the Color Throwdown Blog to see amazing inspiration and maybe you'll want to take part too!

A big thank you for visiting!
Happy Weekend!
xoxo

SSS Flickr Challenge #58 Cards

Hi Everyone!
Today I entered this card into the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #58 where the challenge was Take Some Time To Color: add color to your cards with any medium you prefer using SSS Products:
This is the SSS Presents & Ornaments stamp set that I used to make this card:
First I cut out a piece of Strathmore watercolor paper with the SSS Stitched Rectangle Dies. Then I heat embossed the ornaments from the stamp set on the smooth side of the watercolor paper with Ranger Platinum Gold Embossing Powder; I then smooshed the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink Pad on an acrylic block & used a wet brush to add the background color:
After that, I cleaned my acrylic block & then smooshed on Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed. I used a wet brush to apply color to each ornament:
After this I used the EK Success Powder Tool so that the embossing I was about to do would not stick to other areas of the watercolor piece:
I then stamped the sentiment "Merry Christmas" with the Platinum Gold embossing powder (note that I use fun foam underneath my piece to get clearer stamping):
I used my heat tool to set the embossing. This is the piece after the sentiment is heat embossed:
These are the ink pads that I used, note that I glue a piece of paper with the actual ink pad color & name along the side of each ink pad:
Following this I again used the the SSS Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out a piece of vellum then adhered the main panel to this piece. These two were put on a turquoise cardstock piece:

I did enter another card for the challenge the other day:
I used the oh-so-gorgeous SSS Winter Flowers stamp set to make this card.

The SSS Flickr challenges are such a fun way to interact with other card makers. It is so very inspiring to see other card maker's creations. Check out the SSS Flickr Group for more info! To see the cards on my Flickr page, click here. <---

For all my American family & friends: Happy Thanksgiving - peace & blessings to all!!

Thanks Card For My Sister Using The Beautiful Leaves Stamp Set (Newton's Nook)

Good Day Everyone!
I am happy to say that I have made another card using the Beautiful Leaves stamp set from Newton's Nook Designs which is a gorgeous & inspiring set to work with. This is the card:

First I embossed the images from the Beautiful Leaves stamp set on some Simon Says Stamp 40# Vellum with Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder. I then colored the back of the images with Copics (YR09) and Sharpie Fine Point Markers (Aqua & Red). This is when I discovered that Sharpie Markers work very well for this technique. Then I fussy cut out the images with my scissors. On a white Simon Says Stamp card base (120 #), I also heat embossed the images with the same Ranger Gold embossing powder.

Using some Kelly Purkey Be Happy stickers, I used one of the stickers with the sentiment "You Are Awesome" and the other blank one I embossed "Thanks" from another SSS stamp set (I See You). The finishing touches: I put down a "nest" of gold thread then did a cluster of the sentiments, the cut-out vellum images and assorted sequins.

More views of the card:

This is the Beautiful Leaves Stamp Set:

I made this card for my sister, Laurie. She is a God Mother to our sons, Isaac & Ethan and one of my BFF's through life. I want to let her know just how much she means to us and that I am grateful for all the little and big ways that she helps us.

I also used this stamp set on at least one more card (to see the post click---> here) where I used Gansai Tambi watercolors.

Thanks for stopping by!
Take time to tap into your creativity this weekend, you'll feel so much better!
Hugs to all!

Autumn Wishes Card

Good Day Everyone!
Today I had a chance to finish this card that I started this past weekend:

Here's the front view:

First, I heat embossed the gorgeous leaf images from the stamp set onto the smooth side of a piece of watercolor paper (I used Strathmore 140 #) with Ranger Orange Blossom Embossing Powder. I then used Gansai Tambi watercolors to add color (I used  #'s 33, 36, 43, 44 and splattered with #91). I let each layer of color air dry. When I was happy with all the layer of colors I then added splatters using the same colors plus the gold colored #91. On a piece of SSS vellum I heat embossed the Autumn Wishes sentiment with Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder, tearing the edges and also gold embossing the edges.

I wrapped gold thread around this front panel which was then placed on a gold-embossed paper and then on an Avery Elle card base (from The Citrus Collection). I then accented with various sequins.

I love how the colors all go together perfectly - a gorgeous card celebrating Autumn.

I am giving this to my friend (and neighbour!) - just to let her know how special she is!

I hope that you are enjoying your Fall so far - it's my absolute favorite time of the year!

Take time to create - it will warm your heart!

We hope that you will enjoy all of the amazing projects that our Glam Squad has to share!
Our Newest release is now available in the Kennedy Grace Creations Online Store.
What I have created for you today is this fun and bright birthday shaker card:

This is the video where I make the card (or watch on my YouTube Channel):
First I stamped a piece of Strathmore water color paper with the roses image from the new Splendid Roses stamp set, then I embossed it with sparkling gold embossing powder. I then water colored in the image with Zig Markers (Dark Pink for the roses & May Green for the leaves). I covered both roses and leaves with a clear Wink Of Stella glitter pen for even more sparkle.

I then used the WRMK Fuse Tool to make a shaker pocket into which I put the card panel and sequins (newly released Tropical Treasure & Moonbeams sequins). To add a personal message, I'll simply adhere a paper on the back (this card is for one of my sisters). Such a vibrant and beautiful card - I'm simply in love with it!

In addition to the above card, I also made this tag card, again using the Splendid Roses stamp set along with the fuse tool (I cannot stop using it lol!):

One of the first things I thought of when I saw this Splendid Roses stamp set was to use it for art journaling. I call this entry "Life is All About Love":

There are 3 new stamp sets released for July along with 4 new sequin mixes:
